Hello Sisters!!
I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mine was pretty great with the exception of the fall of Clemson to USC (yes Taylor Rhodes... we all know you are happy :)). Earlier this month, the Athenians welcomed 5 new sisters; Abby O'Reilly, Tessa Rhealt, Ellis Evans, Maria Cinquemani, and Haley Whitney!! These 5 beautiful women worked so hard during rush and I am soo proud of them, like you don't even know, they even threw us a Legally Blonde movie night where we re-instituted the "Bend and Snap." Lauren Files just so happens to be a pro at it! These ladies were inducted into our society on November 16th, the same day as our Thanksgiving party, we had 5 new girl to be so thankful for. If you need any Thanksgiving jokes for next year... here's a few...
- "Why did they let the turkey join the band?" ----- Because he had the drumsticks.....
- "Why did the turkey cross the road?" ------- It was the chicken's day off.....
- "Why cant you take a turkey to church?" ----- Because they have such FOWL language...
Thanks to Annie Baldwin for the the holiday humor. We also just concluded our last fundraiser of the semester, a raffle for a $50 Wal-Mart gift card. We've come up with some new fundraising ideas... including an Athenian Cookbook!! It's still in the works, but if it ends up happening (which I for real hope it does) we will definitely be looking for some alumni input, we know you guys have some amazing recipes out there. We hope to make this an ongoing fund-raiser.. maybe sell them in the bookstore and such, and if you have any ideas to get the ball rollin' leave a post or message on the Facebook group, or just leave a post because you want to, I love hearing from y'all! This coming Tuesday is the annual Christmas party, TACKY STYLE this year. I am so excited about my tacky Christmas sweater! I hope all of you have a blessed holiday season, and safe travels if you are planning any. I'll try to post again soon to keep you updated :)
HAHA!!! Thanks, for the shout-out Ms. Katie :)

ReplyDeleteYea yea. I figured you would like it. 2 years in a row.. that hasn't happened since when? Like the 70s? Jk. I love you. Yea, I'll for sure let you know when we get the cook book moving! I'm super excited to get some of Harky's recipes written down to be at my disposal :)
ReplyDeleteI love the cookbook idea! One thing my family med group does is a "SOUPer Bowl" in Feb. We make it a competition and try to get about 20+ soups makers to enter then charge $5 for tastings and with that you get 1 bowel of your favorite.
